Finance Clerk
The Finance Clerk will support the Finance Department by performing transactional, reconciliatory, and administrative accounting duties to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records. The role focuses on processing, reconciliations, compliance support, and maintaining proper documentation in line with company policies and procedures.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Team support
- Provide daily support to the Debtors and Creditors teams.
- Assist the General Accountant and Senior Accountants with routine finance tasks.
- Liaise with internal departments to obtain supporting documentation and resolve queries.
Transaction Processing and Reconciliations
- Process accounting transactions accurately and timeously.
- Capture and post journal entries under supervision.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for fixed assets, bank, debtor, creditor, and general ledgers.
- Assist with inter-company cost recoveries and tenant recoveries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation.
Financial Reporting Support
- Assist with preparing information required for monthly management accounts.
- Provide supporting schedules and reconciliations for reporting purposes.
- Investigate and resolve basic variances as directed by the General Accountant.
- Ensure financial data is complete and accurately captured for reporting deadline
CAPEX/Fixed Assets support:
- Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Capture and allocate CAPEX and WIP items correctly.
- Assist with monthly depreciation processing.
- Maintain the CAPEX/Project register and ensure proper supporting documentation is filed.
- Support fixed asset verification processes.
Compliance and Tax support:
- Assist with VAT reconciliations and preparation of supporting documentation.
- Provide information required for VAT 201, EMP201, and EMP501 submissions where applicable.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations as required.
- Ensure documentation is available for audits and governance reviews.
Internal Controls and Record keeping:
- Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems (electronic and manual).
- Assist with maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Support preparation of Annual Financial Statements by providing required schedules and reconciliations.
Procurement and vendor support:
- Capture purchase orders in line with the approval matrix.
- Ensure correct allocation of department, project, and expense codes.
- Follow up on outstanding approvals and resolve purchase order queries.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Liaise with vendors regarding documentation and basic account queries.
Systems and Administration:
- Utilise financial systems to accurately capture and process transactions.
- Assist in maintaining data integrity within financial systems.
- Support improvements in administrative and finance processes where required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or studying towards).
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting support role (property management experience advantageous
Skills & Competencies:

- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow processes and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
