Drives revenue to achieve DORP and Boschendal topline goals for each of their represented accommodation by proactively soliciting all business segments; to include new business from small business accounts, sourcing new accounts, identifying new targets, and re-soliciting past business leads with a key focus on Corporate and Production business.
Develops strategic relationships with key account buyers and travel decision makers within these segments with the purpose of penetrating and growing local market share and driving revenue considering the optimal mix of segments.
Support Reservations and Revenue achieve segment revenue goals by actively selling and mining opportunities within the corporate, group and production segments in order to maximize revenue opportunity. Implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience
Support Head of Sales with sales strategies to stay competitive within the market by aligning on sales activities to generate business and communicate real-time competitor intel. Reports directly to the Cluster Head of Sales and works closely with the DORP GM, Cluster Head of Revenue and focuses on sales driven tasks. Role is based in Cape Town, and works out of the Dorp Hotel.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Works with Cluster Head of Sales in identifying the top accounts for hospitality, determining account deployment structure, identifying key buyers within each account, and coordinating efforts to drive demand and pull-through business from the accounts.
- Assist Cluster Head of Sales in identifying share shift targets.
- Ensures effective and efficient funnel management through available systems and collaborating with Reservations and Revenue
- Manages daily Status Change reports to help close on hotel business.
- Drive production from targeted high priority accounts including optimizing the Corporate, Production and when required, wholesale / tour operators segment to maximize revenue from these segments.
- Solicits new business based on market intel, competitor activity, and leads sent through internal referral mechanisms.
- Solicits potential new accounts or business opportunities by leveraging business intelligence provided by Sales & Marketing Planning and Support or other third party data sources to generate leads.
- Utilizes internal lead referral tools to solicit new business opportunities and contacts.
- Drives customer satisfaction through daily interactions (e.g., solicitations, account calls, site inspections, new business calls, face to face activities, etc.)
- Conducts customer facing sales activities on behalf of the properties in partnership with Property Coordinator/Resource as appropriate. (e.g., lunch and learns, social hours, company of the month activities, local industry events etc.).
- Maintains complete and up-to-date lead information on each account to verify accurate reporting and customer base information.
- Qualifies and maintains customer’s long-term business potential, as required.
- Understands and utilizes all business processes written in support of the sales organization
- Utilizes negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to uncover new business.
- Uses all information systems to research the deployment and value of the accounts deemed important for stakeholder hotels.
- Understands the overall market (e.g., competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc.) to sell effectively against the competition.
- Communicates trends, opportunities, and market changes to appropriate parties, as needed.
- Understands and actively utilizes company marketing initiatives/incentives to convert cold leads to warm leads.
- Support Cluster Head of Revenue, and Cluster Head of sales to track weekly activities and relationship to revenue and room night production.
- Sets day-today priorities to complete assigned responsibilities
- Actively participates and contributes to Sales Strategy Meetings as appropriate.
- Activate local tactics for deployed accounts to pull-through local buyer needs.
- Performs other duties as appropriate.
COMPETENCIES:
- Computer literate including relevant software and experience in using a PMS system
- Minimum 2-3-year experience in a similar position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma, 2 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.
- Previous experience in proactive lead generation in hospitality and sales discipline; account management experience, knowledge of property-specific business segments (e.g. corporate, production, wholesale, leisure, group, catering, transient); knowledge the hospitality industry
